The COVID19 pandemic is affecting the mental health of so many right now. Many of us are already dealing with things like anxiety. The last thing we need is another reminder. Here we are, though. The pandemic is just adding insult to injury right now.

You want to stay informed on what is happening, but it becomes a double-edged sword. The more you pay attention to the casualties, the more anxious you feel.

The Quarantine:

Social distancing and isolation is the key now. However, it could lead to more issues with your mental well-being later if you do not address it now.

Do you suffer from one of the following?

1) You could have changes in your eating habits. You might start eating less or more during the pandemic.

2) Feeling restless and restricted by everyday activities. Going from being happy and enjoyable one minute to sad, depressed, and bored the next. That is all part of having anxiety and depression.

The coronavirus is taking its toll on everyone. However, there are things you can do to help minimize the effects.

What can you do during this time to help improve your mental well-being?

1) You are going to have to change things up a bit during this time of quarantine. That means you might have to create a new routine for yourself if you can. Now is the time to focus on what you can control and not what you cannot.

It will take your mind off of the pandemic(at least for a little bit).

2) Do you usually go to the gym for a workout? Start an indoor routine. Eat healthily. Try to sleep as much as you can, but not too much. Sleeping too much could be a sign of depression.

3) Are you a social creature by nature? Right now, this pandemic is putting a stamp on socializing. What can you do to fulfil that inside need, and stay safe at the same time(without letting the anxiety take over)?

Stay connected with the people you love as much as you can through online tools that are currently available to you right now. That will reduce your chances of feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed all the time.

4) Part of self-care is taking care of your physical self. Take care of your skin with a skincare routine(including baths and hot showers). Making yourself look and feel beautiful is one way to take your mind off of the pandemic and focus on something else.

5) One final tip is to help someone else who is worse off than you. We are all in this together, remember that. Right now, we need those reminders, so we do not become too within ourselves during this time of isolation.

Stay Home. Stay Safe.
